These four artists (scroll down) have made valuable contributions to Florida’s landscape art scene in the style of the 26 Highwaymen Artists. Each of their beginnings in art trace back to the Fort Pierce Florida area of the 60’s and early 70’s. They all have uniquely developed talents learned by an association with, or being mentored by, one or more of the Highwaymen Artists.

Jimmy Stovall

In 2006 the Tampa Bay Magazine wrote an article calling Jimmy Stovall the "The 27th Highwaymen".

Jimmy Stovall spent a lot of time at Alfred Hair’s house making Highwaymen frames starting back in the mid 1960’s. He made good use of his association with Alfred Hair and learned to paint landscape paintings by observing and listening to his advice. Jimmy is still an active painter today. You can find him at art shows throughout Florida.

Norman Wright

Norman Wright started his career as an artist by making Highwaymen frames and learning how to paint Florida landscapes from his uncles, Highwaymen artists Al Black and Issac Knight in the early 1970s. Norman is still an active artist and can be seen at local art shows in the Florida Treasure Coast area.

Horace Foster

Horace Foster (deceased) was friends with, and painted with both Sam and Harold Newton back in the 1960’s. He also painted with Alfred hair but departed early on from his artist friends to pursue a three-decade long career as a truck driver. Following his driving career, he returned to painting Florida landscape art. His artworks are treasured by art seekers that look for that connection to the Highwaymen art movement.
